Construction Track Sessions

TRACK 1: Data Prep and Management for the Heavy and Highway/Earthmoving Contractor
Design data is fundamental to a heavy and highway/earthmoving construction project. With the adoption of positioning technology data preparation, management and tracking for the construction jobsite lifecycle is critical. This track explores both the challenges that data can present on construction projects and provides application-focused training for construction professionals responsible for design data. The track will include advanced training on Trimble construction office software solutions along with presentations from leading experts and "Ask the Expert" sessions so that you can position your organization for success today and tomorrow.

The "Ask the Expert" sessions will provide you with the opportunity to meet with a Trimble expert, ask questions that you have, review data sets that are causing you problems or see a demonstration on how to do something that you have never worked out for yourself. TRACK 2: Site Positioning Systems for Contractors involved in Heavy and Highway/Earthmoving Projects
Trimble Site Positioning Systems provide the heavy and highway contractor with the ability to track, report, validate and control workflows from receipt of initial designs to project completion. This track is aimed at the foreman, supervisor, grade checker, and site engineer. It provides an in-depth look at how site positioning technology can improve control validation, measurement, stakeout, quality control and progress monitoring throughout the lifecycle of the construction project. The track will also cover how the Trimble Connected Site™ solutions improve the workflow between the office and field—positioning you for success, today and tomorrow. It will include a combination of presentations, interactive feedback and hands-on sessions that demonstrate how to reduce downtime and resolve issues on site as they arise—without office assistance.

Hands-on sessions will provide you with an opportunity to learn about the different solutions from very high accuracy solutions for grade checking, site measurements and volumes as well as location-based solutions designed specifically for the supervisor. TRACK 3: Grade Control Systems for Construction Technology Managers involved in Heavy and Highway/Earthmoving Projects

Trimble Paving Control Systems provide asphalt paving contractors with the ability to significantly increase their productivity while at the same time ensuring tight levels of accuracy and pavement smoothness. Targeted at asphalt paving decision makers, project managers, foremen and supervisors, this track provides an update on paving solutions from Trimble. Topics include an explanation of Trimble 2D paving solutions through a combination of presentations and customer stories from contractors who have applied Trimble paving solutions on asphalt paving projects. It will also include job site experiences from a customized installation of 3D technology on road milling machines.

This track is aimed at contractors looking for a broad overview of the technologies available, what those technologies can do for their business, and how they can effectively adopt and integrate positioning technologies within their organizations for success today and tomorrow. Sessions will cover topics including the operational benefits of adopting positioning technologies, an overview of available technologies, how to structure your organization, return on investment, and more.

TRACK 7: Site Prep Solutions for the General Contractor
Learn how you can get mega productivity from your mini machines! This track provides a hands-on look at laser-based machine control systems for compact equipment typically used for site prep on commercial, industrial and residential construction projects. It will include hands-on and interactive feedback sessions that look at how site prep contractors can use this technology to position their organizations for success through improved productivity and accuracy as well as reduce downtime, material usage and fuel costs.

TRACK 8: Layout on the Building Construction Site

TRACK 9: Leveraging Building Information Models
With the advent of the Building Information Model (BIM), the building construction process is undergoing significant change—more complex designs, higher accuracy requirements and tighter construction schedules. This track explores how you can leverage BIM to increase productivity, simplify the layout of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and ensure you are meeting accuracy tolerances. The track will cover office software solutions that work with BIMs as well as provide a review of construction total stations and field software for layout of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on the jobsite. It will include a combination of presentations and interactive feedback sessions from both Trimble and leading industry partners, so that you can position your organization for success today and tomorrow.

TRACK 10: Construction Operations and Asset Management
Construction today is challenged with coordinating equipment on multiple jobsites. Knowing where your assets are and what they are doing is the key to efficiency. Trimble's construction asset management solutions can help you proficiently manage your entire fleet of machine, mobile and portable assets. Examples include automatically recording hours of use for project billing and preventative maintenance, tracking fuel consumption for cost savings, monitoring after-hours activity and location for theft recovery and quantifying asset utilization for better decision making when estimating future projects.
